RTB (Real Time Bidding) is a part of programmatic advertising, which is the buying and selling of digital ad space in real-time. Targeting is an essential part that allows advertisers to display only relevant ads. To achieve this, we categorize the content and ad placements, which are then stored in Snowflake and streamed to Couchbase. In this speech, I’ll describe how we do this, why we needed to write a custom plugin for Redpanda/Connect, and what's left in production.
