What is this series about?
This series helps participants develop practical soft skills that support success in learning, work, and everyday life. Through interactive activities, discussion, and reflection, participants will strengthen skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, self-management, research, and resilience . The series focuses on applying these skills in their classrooms, real-world situations and developing strategies that participants can adapt and use with others.
Why is this series useful?
This series is useful because soft skills help people communicate, work with others, solve problems, and handle challenges . Participants will learn practical soft skills and discuss how they can integrate them into their classes. They will also learn ways to help their students develop these same skills.
How is this series organized?
This series is organized around 7 webinars that will be offered at two different times in order to accommodate the most participants. Each webinar will focus on one of the core soft skills pillars: self-management, learning & memory, performance under pressure, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and personal growth. Also, teacher-participants will have the opportunity to work with groups of similarly established teachers (university teachers, k-12 teachers, private tutors, etc) for small group discussion, reflection, and implementation advice. Materials will be shared through a learning management system where teachers will also have the chance to share reflections and discuss the content. Finally, open office hours will be provided for additional questions and concerns.
Session dates: September 16, 30; October 14, 28; November 11, 25; and December 9, at 13:00 or 18:00 MSK (you must join only one workshop time.)
*Additional small group sessions will be offered on a flexible schedule on Mondays and Wednesdays starting in October. These will focus on practical application of the content in teachers' lessons.
