STEM Talk: Helping Kids Build Practical Tech and Life Skills for Problem-Solving with Tara Chklovski

In her talk, Chklovski will discuss ways in which adults, parents, and teachers can help kids build practical tech and life skills for problem-solving, how kids can learn new and relevant skills now for the future, and how kids can build resilience. She’ll also talk about her work through Technovation and what she’s learned in preparing children to become innovators. This conversation is moderated by Rachel Wu, who will converse with Ms. Chklovski about her work at Technovation and the resources she’s acquired in working with children to become problem solvers.

Tara Chklovski, founder and CEO of Technovation, is reshaping opportunities for young people in technology. Inspired by her experiences growing up in India and working as an aerospace engineer, she developed a widely-adopted education model that combines mentorship, hands-on learning, and entrepreneurship to prepare young people to thrive in tech. Named by Techcrunch as “teaching the next generation of AI innovators,” she has built Technovation into a movement reaching 400,000+ people across 160+ countries. Her research shows that AI education for girls could unlock a $200 billion opportunity for the world economy. Through Technovation and The AI Forward Alliance (TAIFA), she’s preparing 25 million young people to lead in AI innovation and tackle global challenges.
